MATTHEW DAVID OLERIO

Erev is the project of songwriter and composer, Matthew David Olerio. Formed in 2019, Erev was birthed out of experimenting with minimal, piano and synthesizer driven tones in coastal Rhode Island. These improvised recordings took form in 2021’s EP “Sit Soft” and 2023’s LP “Notes”.

Along the way, Erev’s sound has evolved with the help of friends and collaborators - developing a range that oscillates between ambient, folk and exotica. Weaving in and out of different genres seems to be a comfortable place for Olerio. Within these worlds, a common thread is found in tinges of nostalgia, carried by blissful melodies that evoke a playful curiosity.
